Set on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in Litchfield Beach, this deck was built by master carpenter Chad Jones. The design is a mix of Black Locust and Sassafras.
The decking features a picture frame layout with a double border of Black Locust 5/4 x 6 Decking. The inlay is constructed from Black Locust 5/4 x 4 Decking pre-grooved and installed using Simpson Strong-Tie Hidden Fasteners.
Structural elements continue the use of Black Locust, including Black Locust 6 x 6 Re-Sawn Posts and a Black Locust 1 x 12 Glulam Fascia forming the outer band. The railing system introduces Sassafras, with Sassafras Custom Milled 2 x 7 Handrails and Sassafras 2 x 3 Stanchions, paired with the Cable Bullet.
All wood components were finished with Robi Marine Oil.
