Sassafras is a forgotten American hardwood that makes a great rot-resistant decking or siding product at an affordable price.
Due to the small tree sizes of our sustainable species, it is difficult to produce a high concentration of long-length boards. Therefore it is necessary to deliver a mix of random-length boards.
s4s = 4 sides planed smooth / e4e = 4 edges eased / grading per NHLA standards on the best face
All decking SKU’s can be milled to two-side groove or tongue & groove for $0.60 / linear foot. Tongue and groove reduces the actual face width by 1/2″. Example: a nominal 1×4 = actual 3.5″ width, reduced to 3″ width with tongue & groove.
