Sassafras was used for the interior and exterior ceiling because it t could be stained to match the walnut and white oak in the interior. Sassafras was the perfect choice as its beauty makes any interior application look great, while its natural properties make it a perfect outdoor wood.
Black Locust was used for the porch as well as posts and handrails.
